FAQ
Professional photographer Todd Beltz answers some frequently asked questions posed by photography clients.
How do I book you?
My preferred way of communicating is via email but you can reach me via SMS or WhatsApp, whichever is easiest for you. You can also fill out the form on my Contact US page, where you will also find my email and phone number.
I’m also fully vaccinated, sanitize often and wear a mask not only to keep myself safe, but you as well!
What locations do you work in?
As a Boston-based photographer, I primarily work in and around the Boston area but I have been known to jump in my car and drive for a job way up in Maine or down to New York City, with many points in between. And if your job is overseas? You won’t have to ask me twice! With 15 years living in Singapore, 5 years in Japan and a few months in Dubai, Bahrain and Malaysia, I bring a lot of international experience to my profession. But no matter the location, I’d be happy to work with you!
What services do you offer?
Glad that you asked. Besides shooting my favorite (food) and offering services for interiors/architecture, lifestyle and aerial, I also love shooting portraits, automotive and events. Feel free to get in touch if you would like to see samples of my previous work.
How long will it take to get my photos?
I have a standard 7 day turnaround time for most photoshoots. Sometimes though due to the complexity or because it’s a multi-day shoot, the time to receive your images may be extended. After each shoot is completed, I’m happy to give you a rough timeline of when you can expect the final edited images. As much as possible, I strive for less than 7 days, all without compromising on the quality.
Do I get the copyright to my photos?
As the content creator, under American copyright law, I am the copyright owner of all images that I take. Having said that though, you have the right to print, share or post on social media as often as you wish. These photos are yours to enjoy for a lifetime. But what you can’t do is provide any images for sale or commercial use to a third party. Should someone else wish to use the photos that I took for you, just send them my way and I will work out a usage agreement.
Do you give out RAW (unedited) images?
While I will happily provide a proof gallery to you for selecting images for retouching, I am afraid that I cannot provide RAW files. I will be delivering the retouched images for your use, as these are the final product and properly reflect the quality of my work that you are familiar with. If you’re really interested in having the RAW files, these are available for an additional fee and agreement.
How long have you been in business?
I began my career as a professional photographer in the tiny island nation of Singapore in South East Asia way back in April 2008. In my former career, I was shooting events for fun and I realized that I was pretty decent at it, not to mention passionate about everything photography, that I quit my job and took a leap of faith and started my business. I haven’t looked back since! My job as a photographer has taken me all around the world to shoot from Australia, the beaches of Thailand, to the mountains of India, the deserts of Qatar and UAE and multiple places in between. I love what I do!
Do you have insurance?
Oh, most definitely yes! I’m constantly in and out of multi-million dollar homes and businesses and I want to make sure that myself and my equipment are fully protected in the unlikely event something were to happen. It also gives my clients peace of mind. I currently am covered for $2,000,000 in business liability insurance.
How will I receive the photos?
I want to make things as easy as possible for my clients, so I have found that the quickest method of sending the images is through a service called WeTransfer. Once I’m done with the edits, I zip up all of the images and send them using this service. You will then receive an email with a link where you can download the images to your computer. If you prefer another method, I’m all ears!
What do you charge?
This is often a tricky question to answer as I tailor each photoshoot to the needs of my client as I don’t have a general or generic pricing structure. So many things to factor in, such as the amount of images required, length of the photoshoot, and location that it would be difficult to provide any one fee. But I would be more than happy to discuss the needs of your shoot and the associated fees once I have a better understanding of your requirements. Feel free to send me an email direct or via my Contact Us page! I look forward to working with you!
